In the winter, once the trees have lost their leaves, you can also admire lake views from the desk. Beneath the desk is our spacious, grassy backyard that contains ample space for the kids to run around and play. In the evening, you’ll love winding down by the fire pit, which is perfect for roasting s’mores. Stay out after the sun sets for spectacular views of the starry sky. --ESSENTIALS-- The entire home is equipped with heat and WiFi, so you’ll always be comfortable and connected. Please note that while we do not have air conditioning, nearly every room (including both bedrooms) has a ceiling fan, which keeps the house cool during the summer. The water is beautiful and clean for all swimming and boating activities -- no green algea or seaweed. The reservoir is 1/2 mile wide and 4+ miles long. House has a wet room for storing all tubes, paddles, life jackets. Also, it is on the eastern shore of the lake which means it gets the afternoon sun -- more likely to be swimmable on marginal days. Upper and lower decks with see through glass balusters. 20 foot wide automatic retractable Sunsetter awning provides ample shade for the massive 24 foot by 12 foot upper deck; the 24 foot by 12 foot lower patio is covered. We have a rope swing and plenty of flat areas in the back yard to set up your volleyball/badminton net and space for others as well. The minimum rental at Sunset place is 5 nights. The house comes with its own private 20 foot by 12 foot dock. Otis Reservoir is a highly desirable lake because it is drained down about 10 feet every winter and refilled with fresh & clean water every spring. The reservoir is about 1/2 mile wide and 4+ miles long. Because Sunset Place is located on the Eastern shore of the Reservoir, it gets full sun all afternoon thus is more likely to be swimmable on marginal days. Also, we have great fishing off of the dock. The water is only a foot deep near our seawall so small children can comfortably frolic in the water. Water is about 5 feet deep in front of the dock and 6 inches deep in front of the rock wall. This is our only vacation home, we had it custom built. We rent it out for 2 reasons: #1 we don't have enough free time to come up to the house all the time so someone else might as well enjoy it while we're not there and #2 we're trying to cover the property taxes, insurance, and other expenses. Master bedroom has a queen size bed, second bedroom has a double bed, third bedroom has two twin beds and the last bedroom has two twin beds and a bunk bed with two singles. Across the front of the house there is a glass/screened-in porch facing the lake and a big deck on the side of the house offers views of the lake. There is a large dock on the water perfect for catching rays or jumping into the lake. The house is very convenient and close to all Berkshire amenities. This apartment is spacious, bright and airy. Private entrance and large, private deck which over looks the backyard. This space can accommodate 7 people with a huge bedroom and a second walk through bedroom. Large bathroom with shower. Lots of amenities. We have a dock on the Otis reservoir (super short walk). Walking trails criss-cross the 43 acre property for your hiking enjoyment. Our young children absolutely adore this spot and our whole family is in love with the house and everything Big Pond has to offer. During the summers, the lake is ideal for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, pedal boating, and fishing. At our private sandy beach and dock, the water is very shallow and has a silky, sandy bottom. The kids can play carefree all day. During the off-season, the house is a real get-away from the grind of our regular city life in the Boston area. It’s the perfect retreat, quiet and remote. The lake is a spectacle of natural beauty. In the early mornings, we have been in awe of the sunrise over the mirror-like surface of the water. At other times, we have admired the rough, powerful force of the winds whipping over the water. Fall foliage is a true marvel as you have panoramic views of the lake right from our back porch. On the opposite side of the lake is a state forest, boasting undeveloped woodlands and offering public hiking trails and even camping. Under the right conditions during the winter season, the lake freezes over and you can ice skate or snow mobile over its surface. No matter what time of year, the varied natural beauty of this setting is stunning. We take pride in the home itself, as it was an overwhelming renovation project. A lot of thought was put into spatial layout, as well as eclectic furnishings to make it a cozy, family-friendly gathering place. It truly is ideal for two families, or larger groups of people. The home features three full floors of living. The open-format living/dining/kitchen area of the main floor features incredible views of the lake, while the open floor plan is perfect for gatherings. You can lounge on the comfy couches and armchairs, while others can socialize around the kitchen island, prepare and cook a meal, or play games on the dining table. We offer WiFi and DirectTV live TV access with lots of channels. We also provide some family DVDs. Cooks will enjoy the fully-equipped kitchen, stocked with quality pots and pans, tea, coffee, oils and spices. Feel free to use what you need. You'll have a glass-top stove, stainless refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, drip coffee maker, electric tea kettle, a toaster, a panini press, and all the dishes or utensils you'll possibly need. You can fit 6 people around the dining table, 8-10 with the extension leaf. Step onto our wrap-around porch to breathe in the fresh air and take in spectacular views of the lake. In the off-season, there is virtually no activity on the lake. Perhaps the only spotting might be of the nesting pair of bald eagles from the island across the way - they often take flight overhead, and have been known to land in the tall trees near our property. A bath with shower and a cozy bedroom complete this floor. The bedroom has an extra-long twin bed, a genuine sheep-skin rug, and a built-in dresser which is original to the house. The upstairs is ideal for a family to spread out over two bedrooms. It offers an open format which is very family friendly, but perhaps not ideal for strangers! The master bedroom has a real ‘wow’ factor extending the full width of the house with an A-frame ceiling lined with knotty pine. This is loft-style in that there’s an opening to the downstairs dining room, which is of course secured by a high railing. You can admire the lake through three bay windows, take a soak in the free-standing tub, situated right in the master bedroom, or escape to our private outdoor balcony. The master bedroom has a small hallway and does not have a door. However, as you can see in the pictures, the room itself has a generous yet cozy feel and both the bed and tub are positioned in such a way to offer full privacy. A half-bath is in the hallway separating the two bedrooms. The second bedroom was furnished with our kids in mind. It has a low ceiling, but is extra wide handling two twin beds which are very comfortable for adults. The downstairs is a walkout at lake level, featuring a very spacious living/family room with a colorful and comfortable sitting area (original Chicklet chairs from the 1970s) and plenty of space for playing. Here, you can again enjoy viewing the lake and socializing. The bedroom on this level has a queen bed and large closet. The full bath with shower is modern and a generous size. The lower level is perfect for a family as well, and we have at your disposal additional queen or twin air mattress for extra sleeping arrangements. Our cast iron fire pit, which is situated right on our private beach, is a year-around indulgence. Sit on the benches, break out some marshmallows and enjoy a camp fire any time of year. For families visiting with small children we can offer access to some toys appropriate for ages 2-6 (wooden train set, Match Box cars, wooden fire house, blocks, puzzles, board games etc. Our tap water comes from a private well, and passes through a sophisticated filtration system that purifies it for safe drinkability. Nevertheless, there’s a large filtered pitcher in the fridge for those who prefer even greater purity. The property has an advanced septic system, but we encourage guests to please use water sparingly and to please be mindful about what you put down the drain. Sanitary items and chemicals are harmful to the system. We only use mild cleaning products and we ask you to dispose of food scraps in the trash. Since we are in the middle of a wooded area, there is wildlife. We ask that you do not leave any trash outside as it may attract animals. We have a barrel in the garage that you may use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry! Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. Other Things to Note: Like any good camper, you won't want to leave food anywhere in or near the tent site, as there are definitely bears who travel through the area. We want you to have a safe and enjoyable stay out here in these woods. Bring gear that you can hike in on your back or in your hands. In order to make the experience as remote as possible, we've built a hiking trail to your site from the street. It's about a 5 minute light hike/walk down, but we'd recommend wearing boots. Interaction with Guests: In the age of social distancing, isolated time can still be quality time - especially when you’re unplugged and out in nature - and we want you to know that the Tentrr team and our hosts are working together to make sure you have a safe and relaxing experience. Our hosts have been doing a great job ensuring our campsites are clean and spotless for your arrival. We ask that you do your part as well - maintain social distancing, clean up after yourselves, and leave no trace - so that everyone in our camping communities can enjoy these cherished outdoor spaces. Our cottage is a modified A-frame hand made by a father and sons, who were founding members at Wildwood, and has lakefront access to the main lake (Cranberry Pond) down a short flat path to the water and private dock. The cottage comfortably sleeps 5 people with 1 double-size bed bedroom, 2 twin-bed bedroom and a single bed bedroom as well as a trundle bed that can open up in the living room and a day bed in the upstairs balcony if you want more people in your party. There is a kitchen, dining area/living room and half bath downstairs, and 3 bedrooms and full bathroom with shower upstairs. A back utility/boat room has another small bed, across from the downstairs bathroom. The cottage features a lovely screened in porch that overlooks Cranberry Pond. Great for enjoying outside dining, bird-watching, and entertaining. We have sighted scarlet tanager, great blue heron, kingfisher and many other woodland birds. No outside watercraft of any sort are allowed in the lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. The cottage rental includes use of a row boat, 3 kayaks and a canoe (specific information will be provided for the use of each watercraft). I also left a guitar for guests, feel free to play away! Guest access There is free WiFi access for guests at the Clubhouse 24/7. We do not have Wifi or a TV/cable at the cottage. AT&T and Verizon service is strong, T-Mobile is not. Interaction with guests The Wildwood office hours are posted, and there are maintenance staff on duty every day from 8-5. Other things to note When driving into the driveway please be aware of the well head on the right side by the road as you enter. Dogs are not allowed on beaches, and must be leashed. We have a running overhead line to hook your dog up roadside. "Please note"...The Wildwood Association does not allow any outside boats to be brought in to the complex for use in the two lakes. and no outside watercraft of any sort are allowed in the lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. No automatic dishwashers or private laundry facilities are permitted in the Wildwood homes, to protect the PH of the lake. The cottage does not have Central Air-conditioning at this time. The woodstove is what we use to warm up a cool night, and new furnace may be used. Key to tennis courts, and electric key fob for laundry hanging on key rack in kitchen. On your final day please remember to close all windows (return windows if you put screens in) and doors, turn off all lights, unplug the coffee maker. Leave all used towels and wash cloths in the hamper in the work room or upstairs bathroom. Leave unmade or strip the beds you have used and try to leave the kitchen in the shape you found it in when you arrived. All refuse must be taken out with you unless other arrangements made with owner. Dump is open very limited times, please ask. Two bedrooms, two baths and a fully equipped kitchen make this cozy cottage a wonderful vacation retreat. Across the road from a quiet, no-wake lake in the heart of the Berkshires, this is the perfect home base to take advantage of all the area has to offer. Spend a summer afternoon at the grassy beach just a 5-minute walk down the road and take the provided inflatable boat out on the water. Fire up the gas grill for a tasty dinner at the picnic table on the deck. On a cool night in the fall, start a warm, cheery fire in the wood stove. The fully updated cottage has two walls of windows and is sunny throughout. One bedroom has bunk beds and a queen-sized pullout couch. The other has a king-size bed, along with a private full bath. There is also a sleeping porch with a small convertible sofa and twin bed – perfect for a warm summer night. The kitchen comes completely stocked with dishes and cookware. We have WiFi access to the Internet as well. In addition to the comforts of home, the cottage is close to many of the Berkshires' great attractions. We are in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Becket. It is less than 10 minutes to Jacob's Pillow dance festival (free evening performances at a stunning outdoor stage) and 30 minutes to Tanglewood. The Appalachian Trail is just 15 minutes away. Easy access to the Norman Rockwell Museum, Edith Wharton's 'The Mount', Berkshire Museum, MassMoca and the Clark. And the Lee premium shopping outlets are also close by.

Or spend the day exploring the many surrounding towns with antiques, restaurants and shopping galore; take a drive down a country road looking for roadside farm stands; go for a long walk in the woods; or explore the nearby rock quarry (the app AllTrails is a must have for this!). At night, have dinner at an outdoor restaurant, grill on the deck, relax with a glass of wine on the porch, roast marshmallows, do a puzzle, or enjoy your favorite streaming on our Roku TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and more. The house has one large main room with living and kitchen areas, and two small bedrooms. The larger room has a queen bed with a comfy mattress and luxurious linens. The smaller bedroom has a full-size bed and narrow twin upper bunk (for children only). There is a cozy screened-in front porch with lounge furniture and fan, and a back deck with gas grill and seating for four. Between the natural setting and nearby cultural and outdoor attractions, you're sure to find plenty to do here to relax and have fun at a safe distance from others.

This house has 5 bedrooms and three full bathrooms (mast bath wasjust completely renovated). Bedroom #1 – has two bunk beds, a single bed and very spacious (sleeps 5) Bedroom #2 – nursery with a crib and glider (sleeps one baby) Bedroom #3 – guest room, queen size bed (sleeps 2) Bedroom #4 – guest room, full size bed (sleeps 2) Bedroom #5 – master bed, king size bed and one in-suite full bathroom (just renovated) with shower (sleeps 2) Upstairs – large area acts as kid’s playroom with a TV, full bathroom with shower and sofa bed (sleep 1) Downstairs – kitchen, full size refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, oven, 4 burner electric stove, large kitchen table, large family room with TV, full bathroom with shower, washer/dryer. Sherwood Shoppe is located in the community and offers delicious home cooked. breakfast, sandwiches, and much more along with all your essential dry good grocery needs.
